About This Site
I've been a software engineer for over 35 years and electronics has been one of my favorite hobbies. So I decided to create this website to share projects and ideas I've had over the years. I favor old school digital electronics (7400 series TTL) and legacy 8 bit CPUs. Why use TTL instead of any of the many micro-controllers available? I write enough software and I enjoy designing solutions to problems and devices using digital logic (it's a lost skill). I'm sure many of you do as well. Also, anyone that has been in the hobby as long as I have would probably have large stocks of 7400 series devices (hopefully LS and HCT). If not, the TTL devices can still be purchased.
Remember that just because a solution is implemented with legacy technologies doesn't means it's not a new idea.
I also have done some work with linear electronics as well and there will be some projects for linear devices posted on this also. These will be mostly audio circuits and linear/digital hybrids.
I wrote the code for this website in HTML and CSS. The user interface is simple but it does the job. The website content will be changing over time as new content is added and improvements to my coding techiniques are made.
This website is not mobile device friendly (smart phones and small tablets) and is better viewed with a PC or a larger tablet.
Usage Of Content
The content on this website is meant to be used verbatim by the hobbyest, or to be inspiration for electonics hobbyests, for their own purposes. (i.e. Build a circuit for their own personal use in the capacity as an electronics hobbyest.)
None of the content may be used commercially or for commerical education without prior permission and an agreement with myself, the owner of this website. Also, the content of this web site may not be reproduced in a thesis, whether it be at the secondary school or colledge level at all. (With this being said, I don't know who would design any commercial product using TTL devices these days, but you never know, so the warning has to be stated.)
The content on this website is copyrighted. The images contain water mark as well. Yes, it's annoying to see a water mark banner across a schematic or other image. It is done to discourage plagiarism, not only by people but also by AI agents that scrape content from websites and videos for use in AI generated content.
